.bd Domain Price in Bangladesh: Full Cost Breakdown

Domain pricing in Bangladesh confuses people for one specific reason: .bd prices are set by the registry, not the reseller. BTCL publishes the rate card, and every accredited reseller sells from the same list. So the question isn't really "who is cheapest" — it's "what am I actually paying for, and for how long".

This guide breaks down the real numbers, extension by extension, and explains the one thing that trips up almost every first-time registrant: the gap between the registration price and the renewal price.

.bd domain price list

Current rates in Bangladeshi Taka, per year:

Why renewal costs more than registration

This is the single most common surprise. For most .bd extensions, BTCL sets a lower first-year rate and a higher standard rate for every year after. A .com.bd registered at ৳805 renews at ৳1,173 — around half as much again.

That's not a reseller markup. It's the registry's own two-tier structure, and it applies wherever you register. Two practical consequences:

• Budget for the renewal, not the registration. If you're planning three years of running costs, the realistic figure for a .com.bd is ৳805 + ৳1,173 + ৳1,173, not ৳805 × 3.
• Multi-year registration is genuinely cheaper. Registering for several years up front locks in the current rate for the whole period.

.বাংলা is the one clean exception: ৳460 to register and ৳460 to renew, indefinitely. If price predictability matters more than Latin-script familiarity, it's the cheapest long-term Bangladesh address available.

How long can you register for?

The maximum registration period depends on the namespace:

• Direct .bd (e.g. example.bd) — up to 4 years at a time.
• Everything else (.com.bd, .net.bd, .org.bd, .বাংলা and the rest) — up to 10 years.

What the price includes

At get.bd, the registration fee covers everything you need to operate the domain:

• Registration with BTCL and instant activation on payment.
• Full DNS management — A, AAAA, CNAME, MX, TXT and NS records, at no extra cost.
• Document verification handling with the registry.
• Client area access, renewal reminders, and 24/7 support in Bengali and English.

There is no separate activation charge, no verification fee, and no charge to update your DNS records.

What you should also budget for

A domain on its own doesn't put a site online. Realistically you'll also need:

• Hosting — shared hosting, a VPS, or a platform like Vercel or Netlify.
• Email — either included with your hosting or a separate service. See setting up professional email on a .bd domain.
• An SSL certificate — usually free via Let's Encrypt through your host.

How to pay

get.bd accepts the payment methods Bangladeshi customers actually use: bKash, Nagad, bank transfer (BEFTN/NPSB), and credit or debit card. Payment confirms instantly for mobile financial services, and your domain is registered the moment it clears.

Is a .bd domain worth the price?

Compared with a generic .com at roughly ৳1,200–1,500 a year, a .com.bd is competitive in year one and more expensive on renewal. What you're buying for the difference is a geographic trust signal that a .com cannot give you: a verified, BTCL-registered Bangladeshi identity. For a business selling to Bangladeshi customers, that's usually worth more than the renewal delta — see do .bd domains help local SEO for the search side of that argument.
